A Guide in Selecting Digital Photo Frames
Traditional photo albums were often used to showcase pictures of friends, relatives, colleagues, and special events. Today, however, there is a new way of displaying photos without taking up too much space. Digital photo frames are the devices used to achieve this. These modern gadgets are shaped like normal tabletop picture frames but, instead of displaying only one photo, they can show thousands of images in a digital format, creating a slideshow of pictures. So you can enjoy having your own digital photo frames at home, here is a guide in choosing the ideal products for your needs.
First, consider its features. Sure, there are those that have fancy features like streaming Internet radio, news feeds, and Web browsers. But do you really require them? If you intend to use the frame for just viewing photos, better buy a standard one, and save yourself some money. Next, do not select digital photo frames based on brand alone. It is important to note that some lesser known brands can match or even outdo their more expensive counterparts. You should always ask around or check reviews of the product before acquiring it. Another thing you have to check is its resolution. Whatever the brand or price is, do not choose any product below a 640-by-480 resolution. Any digital photo frame with a resolution lower than this creates subpar images.
In addition, check out the aspect ratio of the digital photo frame. Ideally, choose a frame with a ratio of 4:3 for a best fit. A ratio of 15:9 is also good although the frame usually crops the top and bottom of the photo to fit the image on the screen. However, traditional frames and albums are still very popular. For instance, if you have a particularly favourite picture, you can create a digital copy of it and send it to a canvas printer that can print a large sized canvas image of the photo. This can then be framed, and placed on your wall.
